IIPCC Seattle non-profit, non-partisan organization providing a platform for innovator and entrepreneur (‘IP-Innopreneur’) communities and enterprises of Seattle to increase their understanding of IP – copyrights, patents, design rights, trademarks, traditional knowledge, trade secrets and other forms of IP – and to gather resources for unleashing the value and realizing the commercialization potential of their creative and innovative IP into products, services, or processes.

We embrace innovation and its IP that promote sustainable economic growth, protect the environment, directly create quality jobs for all social strata, and improve quality of life. This is what value creation of IP should be and what we strive to achieve.We offer a trusted social network that brings the IP and business worlds together. It facilitates the circulation of innovations and their IP in an entrepreneurial ecosystem for IP commercialization.In line with IIPCC’s mission our chapter aims to provide a balanced offering of services and activities that promote:

  • IP education for innovators, entrepreneurs, investors, policy makers and professionals
  • Good IP practices, standards toward certification for effective commercialization in the regional and global markets
  • Innovation, entrepreneurship, networking and collaboration for shared interests in IP commercialization opportunities

Mr. Everardo Ruiz, PhD – Managing Director, He3 Partner, heads our chapter

Everardo Ruiz specializes in IP investment and monetization, IP investment funds for Economic Development with Sovereign Wealth Funds, and IP Strategy for governments and industrial clients. He has nearly 30 years experience spanning venture capital, patent investment, entrepreneurship, management, product development, and research in wireless and fiber optics, security, semiconductor, automotive, medical diagnostics, genetic engineering, and energy-related sectors.

Beside extensive work experience in Asia, North and South America, and Europe, Everardo received a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Dallas, an MS in Management and Engineering from the MIT Sloan School of Management and MIT School of Engineering, an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of California Davis.

Everardo is frequently an invited speaker at entrepreneurship and IP-focused events and teaches regularly at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the University of Washington. He also enjoys lecturing in Asia – most recently at National Tsing Hua University (Taiwan), Bandung Digital Valley (Indonesia), and Tsinghua University (Beijing).

He is also a member of the IAM 250 and IAM 300 – The World’s 250/300 Leading IP Strategists.
